Case study: Large CBO using wellconnected’s allco platform to power its employee assistance program

Program connects Western New Yorkers to regional social care agencies

Buffalo, NY

Press Release

A large community-based organization in the Buffalo region provides an employee assistance program (EAP) to regional employers who are seeking to provide better support and wraparound services for their workers.

It delivers that program through the allco platform, creating a better system for referrals and case histories for people who use it.

At participating companies, employees can call case managers, who do the following:

  • Create action plans for people who call the hotline and connect those employees with social care agencies and programs available in Erie County.

  • Provide micro-loans as part of a long-term savings program.

  • Connect people to financial education from Buffalo-based educators, both in-person and online.

The program is designed to help local companies create a more supportive environment for their workers. It’s designed for employers who care about their people. That’s where wellconnected comes in.

allco, a network enterprise software, was created in 2021 to establish more efficient regional systems of social care. Borrowing from best practices in adjacent industries such as healthcare, the company helps establish…

(a) an interactive and searchable directory of social care agencies that can easily make referrals to one another.

(b) a digital history of social care service that helps those agencies better serve people.

(c) a digital social care network that pulls resource providers closer together to provide better care for those who need it most.

“wellconnected is proud to support this CBO-led effort, a popular and active program that is used every day by its case managers,” said Duane Conners, wellconnected founder and CEO. “This furthers our mission of building the first truly digital social care network, creating efficiency and transparency in an industry traditionally underserved by technology solutions.”

The employee assistance program is especially helpful for employees that are new to the Buffalo region, including refugees and immigrants that have become an important part of our community. Many CBOs across the country run similar programs but do so without access to a platform such as allco, which is built specifically for the social care industry. Two agencies in Massachusetts have signed on to serve similar programs.

One of the primary benefits of the allco platform is that through its ability to track referrals and care, it creates a rich layer of data about the performance of the program. That means CBOs have a universal perspective on their employee assistance programs and a granular one about their partnerships with individual companies. Meanwhile, the companies can see exactly how their employees are using the program.

This is the kind of transparency and interconnectivity that will lead to digital social care networks and ultimately drive better outcomes for community members who need it most. For more information, visit www.getwellconnected.co or email duane@getwellconnected.co.
