Wellconnected completes health equity accelerator backed by Village Capital, Deloitte and the J&J Foundation

wellconnected is pleased to announce it has completed the LIFT: Accelerating Equitable Health Innovation accelerator, a national program designed to boost innovation in the health equity space.

The three-month program is led by Village Capital, a venture capital firm focused on impact investing, and also supported by Deloitte and the J&J Foundation. LIFT runs in cohorts of 10 companies at a time, connecting them with successful technology entrepreneurs and venture capital funds. A major focus of the program is having the companies learn from one another so they have visibility into cutting-edge innovation designed to address disparities in the U.S. healthcare system.

wellconnected is developing the first networked enterprise software platform for the social care industry. Its allco platform makes regional social care networks more efficient and transparent, driving the evolution from siloed systems to deeply connected and collaborative ones. The company’s ultimate goal is better social services for those in need.

The LIFT program helped wellconnected clarify the breadth of its business model, which is an enterprise suite that ties regional networks closer together. The program also included $11,500 in non-dilutive grant funding for wellconnected.

wellconnected is also grateful to the following individuals for offering meaningful support to the company during the LIFT program. They include…

• Austin Martin, vice president of Optum Ventures, a Boston-based venture capital firm in the healthcare software space

• Elizabeth Nguyen, the former economic opportunity practice leader at Village Capital who recently accepted a job at Draper Richards Kaplan, a global philanthropy firm

• Somaieh McMullan, PhD, builder of innovative payment models for public and commercial payers

• Terell Sterling, founder of GoPaladin and innovation empowerment specialist

From its home base in Western New York, wellconnected has expanded into New Jersey and West Virginia. Its customers include Independent Health in Buffalo, which uses allco to connect with its members and drive them to regional services; Monmouth County, NJ, which chose allco as its case management and referral platform for all social care clients; and West Virginia 211/United Ways of West Virginia, which are adopting allco as a statewide, digital social care network.
